Weight Loss Struggles

Obesity can be a result of environmental, genetic and behavioral factors. However, it is a primary function of the endocrine system (think: “hormone control center”). If people could improve the function of their endocrine system, then they can improve and even control their ability to not only lose weight but sleep better, have better energy, mood and overall improve their quality of life.

There is a health crisis in the United States. Many people throughout the nation are either living a life with extreme obesity or are struggling to lose weight. If you are struggling to lose weight, it may not be just the foods you are eating, there are a variety of factors that can cause obesity. For example, people who have excess fat around their thighs, abdomen and hips can be a sign of hormone imbalance. Therefore, it may not be as simple as calories in, calories out for you. You can diet all you want but things won’t change because of the hormonal issues: it may not be your fault that you aren’t able to lose weight. However, you can take the necessary steps to establish a healthy weight loss regimen, hormonal balance and implement a nutritious dietary plan. There are too many programs out there that tout losing massive amounts of weight in a very short time period – these are all starvation diets and will cause more harm and frustration in the long run.

Hormones control fat storage, metabolism, cravings and fat burning. An imbalance of hormones can cause abnormalities in bone development, metabolism, immune system and fat storage. Hormones can be out of balance because of chemicals in our environment and body. There are over 800 chemicals that can obstruct the proper functioning of the endocrine system, causing people to be overweight and obese. Again, you can diet all you want but if your detoxification pathways aren’t working properly to remove the excess chemicals, which are effecting the hormones then once again you don’t lose the weight!
